About

Jesse's journey in the arts began in Boston, Massachusetts, where an early passion for fine art and fashion blossomed. From figure drawing and oil painting classes to sewing at the age of eight, creativity has always been a driving force. This early exposure led to formal education at Walnut Hill School for the Arts, where he majored in visual art, further honing his skills and deepening his passion for design.

A standout moment in Jesse's career came with his appearance on the inaugural season of the Emmy Award-winning series, Project Runway: Junior in 2015. This experience showcased his talent to a broad audience and solidified his determination to pursue fashion design. To further refine his skills, he enrolled at the prestigious UAL: London College of Fashion, specialising in womenswear. His six years in London were transformative, immersing him in the vibrant fashion scene. He dressed high-profile celebrities like Little Mix, collaborated with the editor-in-chief of Wonderland Magazine, and designed bespoke pieces for London-based musicians. His work has been featured in esteemed publications, including British and Italian fashion magazines, highlighting his innovative approach to design.

Additionally, invaluable backstage experiences at major fashion weeks and an impactful internship at Luis De Javier, where he contributed to a capsule collection for Selfridges in 2022, marked significant milestones in his career. One of his most exciting roles and most recent projects was working in the costume department for Star Wars: Andor Season 2 in 2023, blending his love for fashion and costume design.

Drawing inspiration from the nightlife and gritty charm of East London, with influences ranging from the Berlin fetish scene to Italian Renaissance art, Jesse infuses his designs with a unique blend of edge and elegance. At this early stage in his career, he is committed to making a lasting impact on the fashion industry, aspiring to inspire other young, emerging queer Asian designers. Through his brand, Touch Me Lovely, he aims to celebrate diversity, inclusivity, and the transformative power of fashion.
